FrOsH wEeK! Whoo! Fun times! /// 09.04.03 / 2:01 am
wow. has it been a long time or WHAT? i had been meaning to update about la partie numero dos at stef's, but never got around to it. haven't really been online since sunday (aug 31st) because of a) being super busy w/ frosh week stuff and b) my computer totally messing up and freezing at random times - mainly if i don't touch it for a few seconds (say i'm reading something or just turn away from the computer briefly). stupid piece of trash. the longest i've kept it alive i believe is about 20-30 minutes. we'll see about this though since i am actually typing and not leaving much, if any, time consisting of me not typing. so yes. anyway. frosh week is going tres well. monday we had the residence stuff, which for me means the "off campus dons" or ocd. that day was GREAT. tuesday we had mostly faculty stuff, and as far as arts is concerned - big let-down. the ocd stuff in the evening again was fun. wednesday was technically supposed to be my day off (until 6pm), but instead i joined the mathies for the day. their stuff ended at about 5:30, so at 6 i went to the arts bbq, and then at 7 i started wandering around waiting for the math/engineering/enviromental studies to have their big event thing - the lunar lualu... i skipped the arts' scavenger hunt to be there. twas good stuff. left around 11-ish. finally got the computer somewhat co-operating. as i said, 20-30 minutes now... no more 2-3 business. we'll see if i can somehow get it to a point that i can leave my computer to say go to the washroom or something and it hasn't frozen... i dunno if it'll ever work. who knows? anyway. tomorrow is math's day off, so i'm off w/ arts for the day. in the eve, there shall be the campus-wide monte carlo night. that should be good fun. friday will be OCD stuff during the day and the big faculty event in the eve (black lite night). looking forward to all that. saturday is the same for everyone - black & gold day/football game/toga party. i saw on the schedule that math has some stuff scheduled for sunday as well, although arts and OCD stuff both ends on friday... so i don't know if i should be a bugger and sneak into the math stuff again (the "sneaking" part isn't true - i actually was very open about things; everyone knew i wasn't technically supposed to be there, but given the situation they were very considerate and allowed me to parttake in basically everything without paying an extra penny. kudos to them). now being as they were so nice to me, i think i should probably just lay off on sunday so that i don't become a pain in the arse... but at the same time... maybe i'll join 'em. depending on what's happening sunday. if nothing TOO spectacular, i might just stay at home and dust off my old math stuff for that test thing they'll have us all take to see where we stand. i really don't know how much i remember from last year, so i should really review some of the basics so i don't come across as a COMPLETE idiot. anyhoo. that about covers what i've been doing... 9am-11pm at UW has basically been the standard. wow. that's a lot. 14hrs/day. man. no wonder i hadn't really been online or talked to anyone online since sunday. tonight i talked to liz, but that's it. no one's really on... but yes. i'm looking forward to everything - the rest of frosh week, as well as classes. in any spare minute i have this week, i gotta take care of some $ issues and perhaps pick up my 2 remaining books (if the CS one has arrived..haven't checked since sunday). okay. enough blabber. off to sleep i go. getting up in about 6 hours. at 8:30. leaving at 9:30. events start @ 10. it'll be a good day. gonna come home early evening to change for monte carlo. well, nite nite. ps. i met a few ppl at the ocd stuff that i've actually exchanged contact info w/ - so now i have people who i actually sorta "know". well, other than a few of the grci grads in the math and stuff. mmhmm. i mean, i've met a few other people, but it's sorta more like: i'll see them, recognize them, try to figure out which of my 3 orientations i know them from (usually unsuccessfully), and yeah, maybe chit-chat a bit. but w/ these 3, it's a bit more. i actually know exactly who they are, where i know them from, what they're doing, all that good stuff. oh, and from grci i saw matt austin (who also gave me his contact info), wagner, stef, chris ma, gradimir, vlado, marko, dan petker, dan arnott, uh, marcel, and a few other people who i really never talked to at grand, but just saw them around or had class w/ them. yup yup. i could be forgetting someone, and if i am, oops. well. now i go.
